The book "Being Dead" has seven stories that are scary. One of the stories that i like is Drop by Drop. Drop by Drop is about a girl name Brenda who moves to a new town with her parents. The same day that she moved in she goes to the pond in back of her house. Then all of a sudden she sees a hand in the pond and she just jumps in to see if 5/5(5). Dead but not quite gone, specters in these seven stories rise up to harry the living, meet lovers, take care of unfinished business, or some combination thereof. There are no duds here: a harsh widower's recently buried wife returns to dance him into her grave; a young woman with brain cancer falls in love with a man over years dead; "Drop By Drop" a hit-and-run victim .

Being Dead is a heavily stylized, poetic study of the death. There is considerable focus on the natural process of decomposition, narrated in a half detached, half fascinated way. It is certainly not portrayed as anything repulsie - if anything, it is beautiful/5(). Free download or read online Being Dead pdf (ePUB) book. The first edition of the novel was published in , and was written by Jim Crace. The book was published in multiple languages including English, consists of pages and is available in Paperback format. The main characters of this fiction, contemporary story are,. The book has been awarded with National Book /5.

"Being Dead" is not a good book; it is art looking at being and being looking at art. Defying genre, its peculiar wierdness explodes--not the art of the novelist--but the genius of thought. It's hard to imagine this book finding a readership based on any casual description. a sentence or less. BEING DEAD could easily be twice as long as it is, but the language is direct and sincere, almost to the point of being unsettling to a reader who usually prefers books in which the subject matter is coddled and cajoled to their liking. Joseph and Celice, married for almost 30 years, are murdered in the dunes on Baritone.
